| last night |
[01 May 2006|12:07am] |
so last night was the fenn. cd release party at oakcrest. if you were there you know all the drama that went down. if you don't know there was alot of fighting, smoking and some drinking in the parking lot.
I will not be setting up an environment where those things are going to happen.
As far as I know we will still be able to have shows there, but thanks to a few people (if you dont know who these people are already ask someone that was there) things are gonna be different, which is how they should have been in the first place, but for some reason I thought people could be responsible. nope.
From now on: No Smoking, if you want to smoke sit in your car and keep your ciggarettes in your ash tray. No drinking, if you have alchohol the police will be called. If you're at the show you're inside or in your car, no standing around in the parking lot. No fighting, if you do you will be kicked out or the police will be called. If you damage the building in any way the police will be called and a claim will be filed. If you break any of these rules there will be no refund and you will NOT be welcome back on nights when we have shows. If you break any of these rules and return the police will be called.
The main reason for having shows at oak crest was to introduce kids to our church, financially support haven youth ministries and the band I'm in, and to support the local music scene. I, once again, am NOT going to create a negative environment where young kids are exposed to drinking, smoking, and violence.
If you don't like any of this stuff, don't come when we have shows.
I do want to say that pretty much everyone that was at the show last night was awesome and it sucks that a couple kids can mess it up for everyone. Thanks to everyone who is supportive of the local music scene and please encourage each other to act right, even if you aren't a christian I still think we can agree that there are a set of standards by which we should act. Thanks again to all my friends who helped out last night.
If you have any feelings or suggestions about any of this please let me know.

"It was curious to think that the sky was the same for everybody, in Eurasia or Eastasia as well as here. And the people under the sky were also very much the same—everywhere, all over the world, hundreds or thousands of millions of people just like this, people ignorant of one another's existence, held apart by walls of hatred and lies, and yet almost exactly the same—people who had never learned to think but were storing up in their hearts and bellies and muscles the power that would one day overturn the world."
